My openings is the report card Rovian builds automatically from the games you play. When a game finishes, the opening family is detected and added to your My openings page.
The result is a plain table: opening name, number of games, win-loss-draw and win rate.
What's in the table?
Openings are grouped by family — not one row per variation, but families like the Italian, the Sicilian or the French collected into a single row, with your most frequent variation noted inside.
Click a family and you get the list of games you played with it: which colour you had, how it ended, and a direct route into the game analysis.
A win rate needs at least three finished games. Concluding “I win 100% with this opening” from a single match helps nobody.
The two sentences on your profile
Your profile turns this data into two short takeaways: your most successful opening, and the one you should work on.
The second is usually the more instructive. “62% losses in this opening recently” tells you what to study this week. That line also feeds your personal training plan.
What do you do with it?
🔧 Fix the weak link: refresh the main lines of the opening you keep losing in the opening trainer.
🧭 Find where you left the book: open a game in that opening and spot the deviation with the opening explorer.
🎯 Train tactics from it: work through real positions that arise from the same opening.
🧹 Simplify your repertoire: for most players, deepening the two openings you know well beats rotating six you try every third game.
