1. What Do We Do?
Rovian is a social platform where you match with players from all over the world and play chess with your camera and microphone on. Here it's not about mastery — it's about fun and good conversation.
2. Age Requirement (18+)
To take a seat at the Rovian tables you must be at least 18 years old. This rule is non-negotiable. By creating an account, you legally declare that you meet this age requirement.
3. Your Account and You
Security starts with you:
- It's your responsibility to enter your information correctly and keep your account secure.
- You are responsible for every move and action taken from your account.
- Creating multiple accounts to manipulate the system (trying to fork yourself) is prohibited.
4. Our Red Lines (Code of Conduct)
Rovian is a safe space where everyone can comfortably turn on their camera. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will result in the permanent closure of your account:
- Threats, bullying, harassment or hate speech.
- Obscene or sexual behavior and indecent exposure.
- Any violation involving minors (zero tolerance!).
- Cheating with a chess engine or AI (it's the queen you put to sleep, not the bots).
- Spam, fraud and illegal activities.
5. Camera, Audio and Responsibility
Your video and voice chats flow peer-to-peer (P2P) and are never recorded by us. You're free, but you are entirely responsible for the video and audio you share on camera and for your communication with the other side. Don't lose your common sense.
6. Removal From the Game
Breaking the rules is like deliberately throwing your king into the fire. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently close, without prior notice, any account that disturbs the peace of the Rovian community.
7. Disclaimer
Our service is provided "as is." It's your move; Rovian cannot be held responsible for issues that may arise from personal communication or interactions between users. The control is in your hands — play safe.
8. Updates to the Rules
As the game evolves, we may need to update the rules too. If we make a significant change, we will be sure to let you know.
