Because Rovian is a place where strangers meet on camera, moderation isn't an add-on — it's part of the product. Three tools are always within reach: Skip, Block, Report.
As a matter of policy: calls are not recorded. When a report arrives, the review runs on the evidence attached to that report.
What does reporting do?
Press Report and you pick a reason: harassment and abuse, nudity, minor safety, and others. The report goes straight into the moderation queue.
Our policy is explicit: every report is reviewed by a real human within 24 hours. When a violation is confirmed, actions range from a warning to a temporary suspension to a permanent ban.
On the pairing screen there's “Report and skip”: you report and move past that person in one action, without entering the game at all.
What does blocking do?
Blocking takes effect immediately: their video and audio are cut, they can't message you, and you're never paired with them again.
Blocking is silent — the other side isn't notified. You can review and undo your blocks from your profile settings.
Protections running in the background
🔍 On-device content checks: a check against inappropriate imagery runs inside your browser. Unless the model is suspicious, the frame never leaves your device — protection and privacy at the same time. If your own camera looks inappropriate, only you get the warning.
🎤 Voice profanity protection: inappropriate language caught in voice chat is acted on immediately.
✉️ Message filter: profanity is masked, and external links, phone numbers and email addresses are blocked. The reason: pulling people onto unmoderated platforms is the most common abuse pattern.
🔞 Age gate: Rovian is for 18 and over — including guest access, with the confirmation taken on the server too.
What happens after a report?
Reports collect in a moderation queue together with their evidence. A reviewer makes a decision, and that decision is written to an audit trail: permanent ban, temporary suspension, warning or rejection.
That record-keeping is the point: decisions that can be traced back are decisions that can't be arbitrary.
