Banter Arena is the event mode that lets you play your viewers in turn. You start an event, share the link in your stream chat, Discord or group chat, and anyone who opens it can join the queue.
It's one of the oldest formats in streamed chess. The difference here: cameras are already on, so the match turns into a conversation.
How does it work? (3 steps)
1️⃣ Start the event. A link is generated for you.
2️⃣ Share the link. Anyone who opens it can join the queue — and watch your games live.
3️⃣ Hit “Call the next opponent”. An invitation goes out, the game starts, and when it ends you return to the host panel and call the next one.
What does it look like for viewers?
Whoever joins the queue sees their position in it. When their turn comes, an invitation appears on their screen; accept and they're in the game.
Waiting isn't dead time: they can watch your ongoing matches live through Broadcasts, so queueing becomes part of the show.
Who is it for?
🎥 Streamers: a ready-made audience format — no setup, no bots, no third-party plugins.
🏫 Clubs and teachers: practical for playing in turn while everyone watches.
👥 Friend groups: for the evenings where one person takes on everybody.
For a one-off private game you don't need Banter — a private arena is simpler. But when you need to manage a queue, Banter Arena is built for it.
