A solid answer to d4: back up d5 with c6 and bring your bishop to f5.
Basics: the first moves of the Slav
Protect d5 with c6. That keeps your c8 bishop free to come out to f5 later.

If White develops both knights: take on c4 (Main Line)
Take on c4. After a4: bishop to f5, then e6, bishop to b4 and castle. Without a4: hold the extra pawn with b5.

If White plays quietly with e3
e3 locks in White's own bishop. Bring yours to f5, then play e6. If the queen comes to b3, put your queen on b6.
