Pirc Defense
A flexible answer to e4: build your setup first (d6, knight f6, g6, bishop g7, castle), then strike the center with e5 or c5.
Basics: the first moves of the Pirc
Don't grab the center with pawns at once: first press e4 with d6 and knight f6, then prepare the long diagonal for your bishop with g6.
- The first three moves: d6, knight f6 and g63 mosse nuove🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
If White develops the knight to f3 (Classical System)
Finish your setup: bishop to g7, castle. Then c6 and knight to d7; when ready, strike the center with e5.
- Bishop to g7, castle and c63 mosse nuove🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
- Knight to d7, then strike with e52 mosse nuove🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
- If White puts the bishop on e2 first1 mossa nuova🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
If White pushes f4 (Austrian Attack)
White builds a three-pawn center and wants to attack with e5. Castle first, then hit the base of the center, d4, with c5.

If White brings the bishop to e3 or g5 (150 Attack)
White's plan: queen to d2, bishop to h6 and trade off your g7 bishop. Play c6 before castling; when the bishop comes to h6, trade and bring your queen to a5.
- Bishop to e3: c6, trade and queen to a54 mosse nuove🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
- Bishop to g5: the same answer2 mosse nuove🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
If White goes another way on move three or four
Same setup: g6, bishop to g7, castle; then strike the center with e5 or c5. If White pushes e5 too early, you can win a pawn.

- If White pushes f4 at once3 mosse nuove🔒 Finisci la lezione precedente
